Oh, at least several hundred years. We actually use Star Dates for our calendars now, since it's a universal time system rather than a specific planetary one. And it does, but thanks to warp engines we can travel pretty quickly. It makes trade between planets a lot easier, but leisure travel between planets is still a bit expensive so it's mostly trade and political travel now. Or Star Fleet.
